Practical History Philosophy - Vintage Tools, Mechanical Wisdom, and Timeless Ideas

ABOUT DAD’S PARLOR

For the Creatively Curious and Defiantly Independent

Dad’s Parlor exists for people who refuse to stay in their lane. People who ask “why does it have to be this way?” and then set out to build something better. Whether you’re contemplating over whiskey, encouraging your kids’ creativity, or developing your own frameworks for thinking, this is where you’ll find the stories and tools to support that journey.

I’m Jimmy, Your Host

I’ve spent my life around people who build things and solve problems. Growing up in my family’s machine shop in Maryland taught me that the best solutions come from curious minds and willing hands. My grandfather opened that shop so he’d never have to punch a timeclock again. He was also the crew chief for a NASCAR Modified racing team in the 1950s and 60s. The stories I heard growing up were full of people like my second great uncle, who served as Chief Machinist Mate on the USS Langley during WWII. These weren’t famous people, but they were the kind who saw what needed doing and figured out how to do it.

Today, I run a real estate brokerage in Florida and create books, journals, and content through Dad’s Parlor. Different work, same principle: help people build life on their terms instead of accepting what they’re handed.

Stop Consuming. Start Creating.

Whether you’re reading about forgotten history, practical wisdom, or thoughtful craftsmanship, the theme is the same: take ownership of your experience and build something meaningful.

The Complete Infinity Bottle Guide shows you how to apply this philosophy to whiskey. Instead of just buying what distilleries make, you learn to create your own personal blend that reflects your journey and discoveries.
