Meet Jimmy: The Mind behind Dad’s Parlor

Dad’s Parlor is more than just a website; it’s a curated space reflecting the lifelong curiosities and passions of its creator, Jimmy Bunty. Driven by an insatiable desire to understand the intricate workings of the world – from the grand sweep of history to the precise engineering of a high-performance machine and the subtle art of a perfectly crafted spirit – Jimmy brings a unique and multifaceted perspective to its diverse explorations.

This journey of intellectual discovery began early, fueled by two influential figures: his maternal grandfather, a family historian who instilled in Jimmy a deep appreciation for the stories and lessons of the past, and his paternal grandfather, a lifelong mechanic, renowned engine-builder, and machine shop owner. His paternal grandfather and his family’s business ignited in Jimmy a fascination with mechanics, innovation, and ingenuity. These experiences and passions give Jimmy unique insights and perspectives that he shares in The Study and The Garage.

Jimmy’s passion for specific areas has also been cultivated through dedicated learning and experience. As a credentialed whiskey enthusiast, holding certifications from the esteemed Edinburgh Whisky Academy and the Stave and Thief Society, he brings a knowledgeable and discerning palate to the explorations in The Lounge. His understanding of markets, investment, and economic principles, particularly evident in The Ledger, is informed by a decade spent in real estate due diligence and his ongoing role as co-owner of JKX2 Real Estate, a brokerage and property management company based in Palm Bay, FL.
